- Description -Job Title: China Export Control Manager Location: All cities in mainland China can be considered. Shanghai/Beijing" preferred HP Inc.’s Trade Compliance (TC) organization develops policies, procedures, trainings, audits, and advises HP business units and functions on import and export requirements for HP's products, technologies, and services around the world. TC is looking for an experienced Export Control Manager to join our team focusing on China. This is a senior individual contributor role who will report to the TC Asia Pacific Head and work closely with a range of stakeholders such as: the Export Control Team, counsel, Sales and Customer service, Supply Chain counterparts and more. Roles & Responsibilities Oversee and provide guidance on how to protect and facilitate HP’s operations and Sales in China using your in-depth knowledge of primarily US and China’s export control and sanctions laws. You will accompany projects in all life cycles, from product development through production to customer service. Conduct and support Export Control reviews and audits, generate reports to Management and monitor improvement actions. Monitor relevant national export control laws and regulations (mainly China and US ones), and work with local and WW experts to interpret how they may impact HP’s sales, operations and employees. Collaborate with HP internal teams to set up control processes to be compliant with the regulations. Provide practical guidance to Supply Chain teams on due diligence and compliance requirements related to customers, business partners, vendors and service providers. Support Sales and Customer service teams on applying for Export Control licenses/exemptions/due diligence. Handle the escalations from Export Screening /Business Teams and provide advice on a daily basis. Perform Export Control awareness training at all levels on a regular basis. Develop and guide other TC members handling Export Control. Management of incidents including identifying the issue and root cause, preparing the assessment and working with stakeholders to implement corrective actions. Act as the regional SME for Export Control issues in the Asia Pacific. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required At least ~8 years of extensive knowledge and experience on how to apply US and other key Export Control and Sanctions regulations to MNC operations in China. Knowledge of other regional Export Control regimes preferred. Familiarity with Restricted Parties List screening and Military End Use/r regulations. Some domestic and international travel (20%). Skills Comfortable in a fast-paced and distributed business environment providing advice and to senior management. Excellent written and oral communications skills and a proven track record of producing high quality content and materials. Has extensive cross-functional experience and deals with complex strategic issues. Intellectually curious, resilient, and manages new challenges well. Familiarity with GTS system is a plus
