Objectives of the Position : • Manage distribution, movement, and storage of Color Materials supplies efficiently and effectively to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction. • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. • To steer and provide guidance to ensure service providers meet the service requirements with company through regular review of performance against targets, benchmarks, and service agreements within the country. • Ensure operational alignment of S&OP and service provider’s work instructions in compliance with regulatory requirements, adherence to company and country statutory requirements. • As country responsible person in logistics operations associated to inbound/outbound delivery activities, Logistics Assistant Manager needs to actively participate in logistics service procurement, responsible for operational implementation by integrating the awarded service provider into the order to cash process, purchase to pay process, site logistics and system alignment with the production operations team. Main Tasks / Core Responsibilities: General: • Strategically devise the best and most cost-efficient ways to store and transport goods. • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements. • Interpret trends and analyze and review data. Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements. • Participate in ad-hoc projects or initiatives. Back up assignment to peers. Transportation Management: • Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, and customers. • Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance. Warehouse Management: • Ensure proper storage condition for Color Materials products at service provider’s warehouse and actively alert replenishment manager for potential overflow. • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports. • Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to reduce dormant. • Overseeing proper inventory disposal handling by service providers in accordance Sun Chemical policy and national regulation within his/her areas of responsibilities. • Minimize unnecessary disposal by providing options to salvage the goods e.g. through repack, work with sales & replenishment manager to redistribute to other countries. Logistics contract review: • Source for service provider for their reliability, reputation, quality of service and costs. • Ensure awarded service providers are equipped with necessary system access and training to perform transport management, import, and export documentation handling. Distribution Cost: • Monitor expenditure to ensure that the costs don't exceed the budget. • Manage service provider freight invoice verification process and ensure timely settlement in compliance and accurate manner. • Optimize logistics cost and efficiency by reviewing and recommending improvements to existing processes and procedures (continuous improvement process) from system as well as operations handling. Compliance • Proactively review logistics handling to ensure compliance and to seek for opportunity to achieve simplification and improve logistics operations efficiency within his/her responsibilities that brings positive impact to the company. • Ensure complies with laws, industry regulations and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) requirements. Non-Conformance Management: • To investigate and resolve any arising problems or complaints relating to distribution in/out of his/her respective country, address logistical barriers and recommend sustainable solutions by incorporating cross function service owners. • Be the escalation point to cross functions service owner for issues and resolves issue arises with respective service providers. Service Provider Performance Management: • Provide guidance and work closely with service providers to ensure alignment of Sun Chemical S&OP (order handling & operations) when providing logistics solution for business enablement. • Under the guidance of Regional Logistics Manager, set up internal control procedures to manage performance of respective service providers to ensure consistent, high quality service performance in accordance contract agreement. Education & Experience: • Education: minimum Degree holder in Supply Chain or logistics management • Working Experience: at least 3 years of relevant Supply Chain and/or logistics management • Technical & Professional Knowledge: Knowledge of supply chain processes is required, with in-depth understanding of details transportation & warehouse management processes and procedures. • SAP TM module an added advantage.
