Reporting to: Head of Department, Head of School DSAS is a learning community aspiring for excellence in everything that we do. Teachers are enthusiastically committed to all aspects of our community, are ambitious for each student’s learning, and put students first in everything that they do. Teachers are also committed to their own continued professional learning and collaboration. The values which define our school are respect, compassion, responsibility, collaboration, honesty. Teachers lead by example, demonstrating these values in all interactions with students and colleagues, and guide students to do the same. As a future focused school that is also rooted in tradition, teachers continually innovate, increasing their skills and knowledge of research-based pedagogical approaches. Upper Secondary teachers actively work to support the secondary school aims so that each student achieves acceptance into a best-fit university, with the skills to succeed. Academic, pastoral and Co-curricular elements of the school are all fundamental elements of our holistic approach to student development and school life. Every teacher is a teacher of language and skills, in addition to being a subject-specialist.
